One thing I will not forget, is my absolute shock the first time I sat on a Specialized Romin. "How can anyone ride like this?" I practically said out loud. Up to that point I had ridden on cheap, soft and cushy saddles. My butt was not interested in sitting on a saddle with virtually no padding. I tossed the Romin aside and forgot about it. I was switching saddles often in search of a good saddle that would keep me from going numb on longer rides, and I was getting frustrated. How was it that so many saddles weren't working? Desperate, I put the Romin back on my bike just to make sure it definitely was "awful". It wasn't.
My long search quickly came to an end when I realized that Specialized knew exactly what they were doing. The Romin (and their other saddles) are carefully thought out and engineered to perfection. With different widths to accomodate different hip sizes, you can get a custom fit with these saddles. I now use them exclusively on every type of bike I ride: Mtb, Single Speed Mtb, Road, Track and Cyclocross. My go to for the pavement remains the Romin, while offroad terrain sees me on their excellent Phenom saddle.
If you don't have a saddle you love, stop looking and just go Specialized.
