The offseason is finally over. Lazy rides and aimless riding is coming to a close. Gone are the weeks of easy biking. And I love it.
Fresh starts are fantastic. Renewed energy and motivation are at their peak. It is time to jump back into sub threshold intervals, long rides and watching the numbers.
One fun new facet of 2015 will be a new team! For 2015 I will be racing for Joe’s Bike Shop in Baltimore. Joe’s is a local shop that is the best in the area, and happens to have a very strong and motivated team for 2015! It will be super fun to race alongside training partners I’ve had for years, but finally under the same colors!. Thankfully, I’ll still be supported by ESI for grips, Infinit Nutrition for all my calories and SPY to keep my eyes protected! So that is awesome.
With Joe’s comes different bikes. This year I’ll be riding Trek bikes in the form of their Superfly FS and HT bikes. Having gotten in some good time on them already, I’m really looking forward to seeing how they shake out on course.
Time to get back into race shape! This is probably the last time my legs will feel “good” for the next 9 months. The beginning of the year will be all about getting my leg endurance back up. Think being able to push hard for a long time without fading. So, long and painful intervals and as many miles as I can fit in will be the next 3 months for me.
Looking forward to it!
