Riding a bike is one of the most basic activities one can do. Considered to be a milestone in life for young kids, riding can be enjoyed by everyone from the youngest to the oldest of us.
While riding is simple, racing bikes draws in many new complexities that can take years to understand. Unlike more traditional sports that involve coaching with mere participation, riding (whether on the road or off) is often times only trial by error.
Unless you are one of the few that has access to a great coach, or you rub shoulders with some of the best riders in the race scene, learning will be a long and slow process. At the end of the day, there is only so much training and racing most of us can do, and often times this limits how much experience we can gain.
That is where Like A Pro comes in. We have assembled a group of some of the best riders on the east coast: pros, former national champions, the best. Their goal is to introduce you to the ideas and concepts you need to know to ride and race like a pro. Each week an article will drop written by one of these riders, giving you specific details about a particular piece of riding and racing you want to know.
Our hope is that you will learn a great deal. Maybe its a small tip about riding over big obstacles. Perhaps when to attack during a race, how to pace properly, or what to do when approaching a downhill switchback full speed.
We've worked to ensure the list of topics is comprehensive, so that every aspect of riding and racing is covered. Here are just a few of them:
- Race Tactics
- Technical Riding
Regardless of your experience level or years racing and riding, there is always something that can be gleaned from fellow riders and racers. Stay with us then over the next few months, and pick up some of the excellent tips that these incredibly experienced riders will be sharing.

We're going to hold back the full the list of topics for now. But if you could pick one topic you'd like to learn more about, let us know in the comments and we'll make sure it is on the list.
